How to Stay Motivated Part II: Entrepreneur Edition

HowtoStayMotivatedIIBlog To recap, in the 1st part of this series, which you can find here, we discussed the top 5 ways to stay motivated as you continue pursuing your dream as a business owner. They are to take a breather, remember to whom you’re benefitting, gather together a community of like-minded souls, and make lists to stay organized. Let’s continue. 6. Shaking things up One of the reasons you became an entrepreneur was because your brain struggles to comprehend a life of daily routine. If you’re finding that trying the same thing or doing the same thing over and over is making you want to hit your head up against a wall, do something new, different to get out of the monotonous headspace. 7. Realizing your responsibilities If you’re a person who’s naturally hard on yourself, ignore this one. But if you need motivation that’s a bit more consequence-related, this one’s for you. There’s no one paying the bills or keeping your company alive for you. Still not working? Check your bank account. 8. Dwelling on the past Normally considered a mental activity not to practice, this one can actually serve you well. Think back on your 1st job, or the one you just left to pursue this dream. Remember the cubicle. 9. Picturing the beginning and end Always keep in mind why you started and where you’re headed. Go back and forth between the beginning and the end in order to get through the now. 10. Putting your adult pants on If these aren’t working, it might be time to just suck it up because this is just a moment in time that you’re feeling unmotivated and frustrated and this too shall pass.
